After some of the worst flooding of farmland in living memory, NFU Scotland and SEPA are hosting a series of joint meetings to help members understand what they can and can’t do to manage their drains, ditches, burns and rivers.
Knowledgeable and approachable SEPA staff will explain the current rules, including explaining the activities you don’t need a permit for. They will also explain forthcoming changes that will significantly reduce the cost and paperwork involved in dredging straightened watercourses up to 5 metres in width. Come along and get the facts - it might just save you money and help you get to grips with your waterlogged or flooded fields.
Tuesday 19th March – The Lodge, Carfraemill
The meeting starts at 19:30, with tea and coffee beforehand.
