The River Tweed is beautiful in all seasons and we’re producing a calendar featuring stunning photographs taken by people who live and work here to show the river’s year-round beauty. Our calendar will also help us raise funds for our work to protect and enhance the river and its surroundings.
We’re inviting anyone who lives or works in the Scottish Borders or North Northumberland to submit a photograph to be considered for inclusion in our Beautiful River Tweed calendar.
There are three entry competition categories and the winner of each will receive a cheque for £200:
Category A - Under 16 years of age.
Category B - 16 years of age and over – amateurs
Category C - Professional photographers *
Twelve photographs will be chosen to appear in the calendar and the owner of each photograph chosen to appear will receive a £20 gift voucher and a copy of the calendar.
We’re looking for colour images of the Tweed taken in Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring. They must be landscape in format and could perhaps illustrate people at work or play on the river, feature some of our precious wildlife, or they could simply show the beauty of the Tweed.
The competition deadline is Spring 2019 and all entries must be received by 5pm on Friday 5 April 2019. One individual can submit up to four images. Entries received after the closing date and time will not be counted.
Our Calendar Competition is kindly sponsored by Chirnside-based Ahlstrom Munksjo, one of the Scottish Borders’ most important employers. Our Calendar media partner is Johnston Press, publisher of numerous titles including the Southern Reporter, Hawick News, Selkirk Weekend Advertiser, Berwickshire News, Berwick Advertiser and Northumberland Gazette.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL when taking photographs near the river. Children taking pictures near water should always be accompanied by an adult.
We look forward to receiving your entries.
*For the purposes of this competition, a professional photographer will be considered to be someone who makes more than half their annual income from the sale of their photographs.
Employees of Tweed Forum are not eligible to enter.
